Elections Canada and CBC.ca

Regarding Elections Canada and the a possible Liberal Advertisment on the CBC website on Election Day.

Communications – Offences under Part 16

* conducting election advertising using government means of transmission (knowingly) – subsection 321(1)
* conducting election advertising during blackout period (knowingly) – subsection 323(1)

penalites of $5,000 fine, five year imprisonment, or both

As shown in the National Post(see picture) in the editoral page dated Jan.24, 2006. A reader sent in a screen capture of the CBC website and a super-imposed Liberal ad displayed during the blackout period.

His conclusions are quite clear and within reason based upon recent CBC apologies regarding some mistakes made comparing Harper and Heil.
Yet, the CBC has the nerve to put a full page ad in the Post saying they provided unbaised coverage of the Election. Hypocrisy!
